Animal Ark
The 38-acre sanctuary allows up-close viewing of predators from North America and exotic cats from around the world. Bartley Ranch Regional Park
The park has more than two miles of hiking and multi-use trails, a horse arena and the historic one-room Huffaker schoolhouse. Bonanza Trail Rides
Trail rides range from one hour to all day and available for all ages and abilities year round. Lessons are available for beginners and families with small children. Fleischmann Planetarium
"Straight Up! Helicopters in Action" shows at 1, 3, 5 and 7 p.m. daily with a cost of $5 and $4 for seniors and children ages 12 and younger. "Stars of the Pharoahs" shows at 2, 4 and 6 p.m. daily with a cost of $4 for all. Showing through Aug. 21. The planetarium has displays and programs on astronomy and space science. Galena Creek Park

Go-Kart Center and the Ultimate Rush
The center at the Reno Hilton offers three go-kart tracks and an 18-hole miniature golf course, plus the Ultimate Rush thrill ride. Those ages 12 and older can drive the karts, younger children can ride as passengers. Combine sky diving and bungee jumping with the Ultimate Rush free fall attraction. For $25 per person, get hoisted to the top of a 180-foot tower, pull the ripcord and fall to within six feet of the ground. Hours: Noon to 9 p.m. daily. Details: 786-5278

Indoor Archery

This indoor facility provides giant inflatable amusements for children ages 3 and older. Playland
Playland has a bounce house, a carousel, a giant slide, an airplane and animal-theme rides. The motorsports complex has road, go kart and motorcycle races scheduled on the road course for this year. Drag races are on Friday nights this summer. GET REOPENING INFORMATION The indoor rink offers hockey leagues and figure skating. Hours: 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday to Friday; 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The facility includes indoor soccer, indoor basketball, inline skating, inline hockey and a full workout gym. The zoo features a liger named Hobbs, an offspring from a male lion and a female tiger. The zoo has bison, coati, fallow, monkeys, wallabies, mountain lions, bobcats, llamas, lemurs and alligators. Wild Island Water Park
Water slides include the Scorpion, a high-speed, double-tube ride. Hurricane Cove is a 4,000-square-foot interactive play area styled like a tree house with a 650-gallon tipping bucket that dumps water every 2.5 minutes. The park has thrill water slides such as the Red Viper and the Black Widow, three serpentine slides, a lazy river, kiddie pool and a wave pool. Hours: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
